Weight Management
Being at a healthy
weight is an important part of your health for a
multitude of reasons. A healthy weight lowers
your risk for conditions like heart disease, certain
cancers, diabetes, stroke, high blood pressure,
sleep apnea and many other life-threatening
concerns. Many Americans wait for their Doc to
tell them “it’s time to lose some weight,” but
why wait until you get a bad report? Get
yourself to a healthy weight before something
goes wrong.
What is a
healthy weight?
Most physicians
use a measurement called your Body Mass Index
(BMI) to determine if you are at a healthy
weight. The BMI is determined by two factors:
your height and weight.

body mass index (BMI)
Take your measurements: Measure your waist,
one inch above your belly button or at the
smallest part of your waist.
